Lol I don’t check anything on this tank and it thrives. I used to do 20% WC and I lost a few nems since I started doing 50% it has been perfect.

That doesn’t bother you not knowing why they died? Might be working, but 50% a week is extreme. Salt ain’t cheap!
Why not test once a week or even biweekly and get some numbers on the board and better understand your tanks Chemistry. :)

Just curious, how did you get all that coralline algae in 4 months?

If it isn’t broken don’t fix it. I got a 90 gallon that I test constantly and I’m doing everything I can to make adjustments according to what the numbers say is right. I do my adjustments over weeks and its still not right. The tank isn’t terrible but it doesn’t flourish. This tank is doing really well and all I do is water changes at 50% why would I mess with what works? I haven’t lost anything aince I started the WC that I’m doing now. I lost them and I can only assume it was some type of bacterial issue. I don’t use any chemicals at all nor do I have any macro for export. WC, micro Bacter 7 and vibrant. Rinse and repeat. I’m happy with it… going on 4 months since last I had an issue. The reason I have so much coralline is because the tank was started with LR from my display.

Ya it is whatever you like. I do a 15 gallon syphon the bottom partial water change once every 1.5 months. No sump protein or skimmer and just 2 hang on the back filters. I do have lots of live and lave rock in my 125. It is not perfect water quality but good enough for what I want to keep. It is all good.

With all due respect…I see some BTA’s, Paly’s, Mushroom, etc. Those are all the easiest things to keep in the hobby. You might wanna starting testing once a week if you move up from there.

With all due respect, it’s a softie tank. There is no up from there. I’m pretty sure I got this one nailed case closed and thank you kindly for your input. Will see where the tank is in another year or two.

I’m still waiting to hear about what KISS is. Do you mean the guy with the long tongue?
