Hi all, I have a question. Can a juvenile female Labout's Fairy Wrasse turn to male if there is no male Labout's Fairy Wrasse present? There is other male wrasse from different species present though. Thanks.
Yes a female wrasse can change into a male when the right circumstances occur. Normally being when there is no male present in the group. As you have other male wrasses in the tank, I am not sure if this would affect the situation.
It's usually specific to the wrasse type so a juvi female can definitely turn into a male. I had a harem of flame angels and when the male jumped, the dominant female became male in two-three weeks. Several other fairy wrasse males in that tank.
You're checking out the live aquaria deal huh?
They run a similar deal every few months, but it is a good deal. You're never guaranteed they will turn male, but you have a decent chance. As far as online goes I only recommend LA due to their guarantee. You can check with some of our sponsors first, but that is a hard deal to beat.
