Those or you that are dosing or have dosed, did you drip into you skimmer or filter sock? Which method do you think is better?

Thanks!

Definitely in the filter sock and get something like 100 micron sock (the thicker the better)...you will have solid particles which you don't want floating in your sump/tank.

IMO you should not mess with this stuff...it's very potent and can kill everything very quick. This is mostly for big mature tanks with PO4 issue. You can resolve your issue with GFO.

I dripped it into my overflow which end up in the socks. I would agree that GFO will do the job and I do not use this stuff any more.

I will parrot the above. The stuff is great for curing live rock but can cause too much instability in a running system. Older tanks are inherently more stable therefore it can be used there but there are other methods such as GFO and nutrient export.

Edit: Miller, I just noticed the age of this thread. What did you end up doing and how did it work?

I used it for a bit even though I was not registering high PO4. I had a horrible GHA and Cyano issue even though I had a small bio load in a 200 gallon system. I treated with flucanozole for the GHA and Chemiclean for the Cyano (not at the same time). All issues are gone for the most part, small amount of GHA on powerheads but nothing concerning. Keeping up with water changes and watching how much i feed. So far so good.

I drop 5 ml of the SeaKlear (lanthanum Chloride) in a 20,000/g pool weekly to keep the pool algae free - you should see the chemical reaction this thing creates.

Even .5ML is too much for the aquarium in my opinion unless it's a huge tank.
