I'm going to Conroe Saturday and was wondering if there were any fish stores in the area besides PetCo.

Not in Conroe, but there is one in the woodlands. Exit 242 and go east. A couple miles down is a LFS called Fish R Us. Huge store, but 95% freshwater. Just recently got into salt.
They have some unusual freshwater brackish fish like FW puffers and FW snowflake eels.
