So I picked up my RBTA from Oceanlife at Reef Currents and after day 1 he went to hiding. Well a few days after he poked his head out of the rock he was under and started to get some light. We could see the Rose Bubble Tips from the front of the tank poking out from the rock hole and could see the rest of his body from the side of the tank. Since last night was just over a week I decided to try to feed him for the 1st time since I got him. I blended up a small chunk of Rods Food and fed him with one of my syringes, everything seemed to go well, his bubbles got smaller as I fed him but went back to normal about 5-10 minutes later. During my feeding I must have bumped my bottle of ESV Magnesium because somehow it ended up against my timer power strip keeping the timer from turning on my lights. When I got home this evening, the RBTA was completely out of his cave in about the middle of the tank stretching to the surface what looked to me like trying to stretch to the lights. After I found the problem with my bottle against the timer I fixed it, returned the timer back to its normal setting, and cranked my lights up. It stayed put for about the 1st hour or so but after that he started making a b line towards the back side of the tank in the shade. He is now against the back side of the tank with his foot on a piece of liverock. Do you think the lighting in my tank is too intense for my RBTA? My tank is a Oceanic 29 gallon biocube and I'm running Rapid LED's Full Spectrum retro kit with 12 Blues, 10 Whites, 2 UV's, 1 Red, and 1 Green all of witch are Cree LED's. The Blue and UV's are operated off a 48V driver running approximately 70% and the rest is operated off another 48V driver running 100%.

My rbta loves bright light and retreats when the lights go down for the night. How old is the tank? All Nems require a mature tank at least a year old and a moderate flow not to strong or to weak.

did you start low on your tank for the anemone? It might be too much light for it and it is looking for a good spot. Mine barely move around after they found their spot. (it recently split into them)

The tank is about 8 months old but my perimeters are pretty stable. The only hiccup I've had as far as perimeters are concerned has been with Magnesium, I changed my salt mix to Seachem Reef Salt and did 2 small WC's without checking my perimeters first (I know, that's a big no no) but it was before I got the nem. When I got around to checking everything my Magnesium levels were 1,005PPM. I slowly over that week rose my levels back to 1,400PPM and currently in the process of switching it to Fritz RPM (doing about a 50/50 between the 2 now and adding Magnesium till I reach 1,400PPM, I do more of a 70/30 next week and 90/10 the week after). When I added the nem to my tank I just set him on the sandbed and let him crawl the rock on his own to find his place.
