This is turning into quite a saga. ADG says they can't issue me a refund on the order until Monday when a specific person is in who can do the refund. What a nightmare this place is to deal with. I ordered it Saturday July 17th. First they say "oh it will be here next Thursday (July 22nd)." Then "oh the truck didn't come it will be here Friday (July 23rd) afternoon." Then Friday afternoon turns to Friday evening. Then Friday evening turns into next Thursday (July 29th) and I call on Thursday afternoon. That's when they tell me it is backordered and don't know when it will come in, but I am at the "top of the list." I should've just told them to cancel it right then and there.

Adg is usually pretty good. Sad to hear you had problems, but it sucks you got the run around. It's weird they kinda straight up lied to you.

Check your PM’s, I spoke to the owner about your situation and he is trying to reach you.

Good evening,
Sorry for the delay in response. It has been a busy and fun day. Mike did get in touch with me and he is going to figure out what is going on with this tank order for me. They've been having supply issues due to Covid just like everyone else. I talked to the guy at the Fish Bowl and he said he is carrying Aqueon and Marineland tanks right now which he normally doesn't do so he can stock his store. Typically he said he only sells Planet Aquariums and Water Box Aquariums, but due to glass shortages and logistics they are unable to supply him. I have not received my tank yet, but I am very satisfied with how Mike is handling it. He definitely is going above and beyond for me to get this figured out. I wouldn't say they lied to me, but they did not follow up with the distributor on Monday to ensure they had stock after I ordered it and didn't inform me it was on back order. So I am going to wait and Mike will get me some firm details on what the situation is next week. Until then here is pictures of the fresh water setup I was helping my mom with today and the RO filter I installed for her. It's looking pretty good I think! She is going to fill it this week with RO water and should be ready to go by next weekend when I get over there.

I had a buddy that used RO on his fresh water and had issues. I forget what all the issues were, but he figured it was due to all the minerals being stripped from the water and not being added back like we do with salt for saltwater tanks. Using just the carbon to remove chlorine may have better results than full RO.

I’ve been reading a lot about it and I’ve seen a lot of recommendations to use RO water since it’s a blank slate, but then you will have to re-mineralize it before using it in the aquarium. So that’s the approach we decided to take so we can control what is going in there.

Ah, yeah, if you are adding minerals back it should be good. I think my buddies issue was that he was not adding anything back and the water was just too stripped down.

I’m planning on using equilibrium to add the necessary minerals back to it since we plan to have some plants in this aquarium. I’m trying to be a more responsible aquarist this time around though. I would wing it in the past and that didn’t seem to work well so I’m doing my research this time. lol!

Good afternoon! The tank has arrived and I am working on getting it put together. This is the progress we’ve made so far today. I started a build thread and you can follow my progress there. Mike from ADG offered to come fill it up with water for me when I am ready so I’m very happy!
