Going to try here this time. Looking for either cheap power heads to buy or borrow in the Tomball area, don't have a large mixing station and need to do a 1 time mix of 50gallons to complete the new setup/cycle, doing so with 2 power heads in buckets is taking a while. Have the buckets / containers to do it all in one shot if I could find some mixing pumps.

can you not just mix it in the tank?

I just filled mines with rodi and slowly added a lil bit of salt until i got to 1.025. I got a pump you can borrow, but im down southwest. I can bring to work monday. I'm off by 290 and beltway 8.

Hey bud, thanks for the offer, the tank has already been cycled but I used a lot of ammonia to cycle the tank and has left the nitrates sky high, doing a 75% water change and we are ready to start introducing coral / fish. Expected more help, guess Marsh community is struggling, not what I remember, been very quiet. I have mixed 30 gallons so far 10g at a time, i'll have what I need done by this evening, was just hoping to expedite the process.

its a bit slower than back 10 years ago.

not sure if people are moving off older forum formats or just not as many people into reefing. houstonfishbox used to be big for freshwater stuff about 10 years ago too. Its slow over there as well. Prob new kids are into facebook/instagram more than traditional forums.

could also be in the past 10 years huge steps have been made in taking care of saltwater fish and corals, and its just not as difficult as it used to be. So people are less reliant on getting help or feedback from local sources. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Cute, I was a board member for 3 years, paid member for 8+ years. JUST CAME BACK and really wanted to see how the atmosphere was before re-upping. Very nice of you to assume you know me without knowing anything about me. Good day to you

Couldn’t you just temporarily use one of the powerheads that you will be putting in the display?

Yeah, sorry.
Y'all, for the record, I mistook Slayer311 for another "guest" who I gave a deep discount to on coral last year with the understanding that he would become a paid member... but he never did.
Already cleared things up privately with Slayer311 🙂
