Update:

I am officially addicted.

So far so good and I am already looking for a bigger tank.

Water parms have been stable with no signs of ammonia, nitrites or nitrates so I am fairly confident that I am well past the risk of seeing an official cycle. Buying quality, cycled live rock was the key IMO. Algae growth has been kept in check with one turbo snail the size of Texas and ten hermits so far. I have small patches of Coraline growth all over the place so that is a good sign.

On the the good stuff: The top off issue had to be addressed, I love messing with the tank but this was starting to get monotonous.

Added the last piece of live rock and started my Zoa garden.
