My step 2 is the cat carbon. Though thanks to this convo I am going to add the silica buster in here somewhere... I guess after the DI.

I have 80psi. I believe anything more isn’t good for the unit.

That RODI is a beast.:oops::oops:

I have been running my Vertex Puratek ro/di at 100 PSI since I got it many many years ago. At a higher PSI your filters work better - runs more efficient.
If I were you I would add another RO membrane to the unit. If I'm looking at the pic correctly you have one RO membrane.

this convo is one of the best things to come out of that crappy freeze. RODI is straight forward but gets complex pretty quick and I am always picking up new stuff. Also.. just in case..it is pronounced as an acronym not a word :ROFLMAO:

It looks very simple - wactch the video. If you can't do it - I can help you one day.

The second membrane will also save you some $ on the filter replacements.

Silica buster is a DI. I put it after my two ‘regular’ DI. I put all of my additional DI after my ‘regular’ DI to polish the rodi.

Definitely, it is the ‘work horse’ of the unit. I have the auto flush on my Spectrapure but I have to manual flush my BRS and I usually do a full 2 min before and 2 min after. If I get lazy I’ll do less before but definitely 2 min after.

I may take u up on that [emoji16]

One more thing. You’re not supposed to tighten canisters with the wrench supplied with the unit. Hand tighten and wrench to loosen. This is what happens when you over tighten canisters. And by ‘you’ I mean me. I ended up over tightening sediment canister and had to really pull at it, which ended up torching the canister, when then resulted in the Mur Lok fitting to pop out, which resulted in me not being able to make rodi again.. so good job to me. Can’t make water again till next week when BRS order comes in.

To lunlock the tube stick a small screw driver in the locking mechanism...see if that makes it a little easier to disconnect.

This is the part that busted and came out. Couldn’t put it back in, and even if I could I don’t want to risk a leak. Safer to just buy a new fitting $4.
