I am in the market for a magnetic frag rack. I am seeing horror stories about magnets getting rust, etc.
Are there any brands / models to avoid? Which one(s) do you recommend? I need one that works in 3/4" thick glass.

These say they will work up to 3/4" but I've only used them with 1/4"
The interior magnets are sealed in acrylic, so no rust hazard.

Mike,

I have 2 of those but have not been able to use them on my Red Sea Reefer 750. The only frag rack that I have had successfully used on 3/4 glass is this one below.

I have 3 of these on 3/4" glass and they hold ok. Too much weight to the outside of the rack (ie. too many frags) and they will fall off though. The other thing I have problems with is wiping the outside glass of my tank. The outside magnets are very strong but also very small and if you forget about them and wipe your glass with a towel, it is easy to knock them off and send your frag rack tumbling. I've done that a couple times now. They were the best I've found for 3/4" glass though at that price point.

+1 on the Ocean Wonders N52 Pro on 5/8” no problems at all. Eshopps all kinds of problems. They made them to wide 4” (shading and weight to the outside to much for their magnets) and bad sealing ( rust on interior magnets).

I looked at the reviews of the Ocean Wonders and there are a lot of complaints about the design scratching the glass. :(
I went ahead and ordered the Buiding an Obsession L Series Blackout and received them a moment ago.

Well, upon unboxing, I found some instructions that read:

"Place the inner bracket at the position inside the tank you wish to place the rack. Carefully place the outer bracket to match up the inner bracket. DO NOT slide the bracket on the glass to move the rack, doing so you may catch a foreign particle between the tray and glass and scratch your tank."

So... it looks like I won't be able to slide the rack up and down at all if I want to or it will scratch the glass? Is this the same will all the magnetic racks and it is just a matter of time? I am considering returning these or selling them.
