I am really enjoying getting to know the folks at Moody Gardens Aquarium and seeing stories like the one on FOX 26 news this morning covering their release of 94 sea turtles is just icing on the cake!

Really looking forward to April when all our MARSHians who have been participating in the "Let it Grow" and "Grow Out Challenge" will have the opportunity to head down to MG, meet the team, donate their corals, and check out the new 2k Reef Tank Exhibit and Coral Frag Garden.

Thank you Ryan and crew for making a place for her and Sneezebeetle for putting up the pics. Oh and Gregg for letting the school and I have the time we had with her.

I knew when you left with her that she was going to a good place. Thank you for being so generous and making sure she ended up somewhere special like MG... I'll see you in April at RC2018!

Wow... somebody has been feeding her big time since she was in my tank. She squirmed around in her egg for months before coming out. After a while she stopped moving altogether and I was sure she was dead... so unclipped the egg from the glass and dropped it to the bottom of my tank... the next day I woke up and there she was all good to go... the trick was getting her to start eating, I see now she has that part down! Thanks for sharing the photo Deanna, my son will get a kick out of it.

There is a teeny bit more involved when donating a fish. I will let Ryan know and have him reach out to you personally so the two of you can make a plan.
Thanks Mario!

Been frag sitting for a few weeks while Ryan was off-shore at the flower gardens participating in some research...time to start loading these babies up and get these donations delivered!

Have zoas, acans, sps, monti, and acros heading down today.

While there, we will be taking some par meter readings, acclimating, dipping, and putting these guys into their grow out exhibit as their qt tank has gotten much too warm!

I will also be checking on a YT that was donated and in need of some TLC.

More pics to come!

No problem! I have really enjoyed meeting so many of our members. Marshians are some of the most generous and helpful folks around :)

I will post some more pics in a bit.

Here are a few pics. Sorry about the blue hue....the hubby had camera duties haha!

We had 5 zoa frags, 2 purple monti frags, 1 green favia, 1 green/purple monti, 2 birdsnest, 1 poci, 1 mili, 2 acans, and 2 acro frags. They will spend the summer in the grow out tank alongside other donated frags.

What species of seahorse is that?
Hippocampus erectus or lined seahorse.

The pink one is the also a H. erectus, however was born that color. It had just started to get the dark spots when I snapped the pic. It should have it's "natural" color in about a month.

I added a link in the original post with the seahorse pics. I also corrected myself, they are listed as vulnerable, not endangered.

I heard through the grapevine that they started a seagrass project just wondering if we could get some info on that? Are they lookibg for volunteers? I could use all the knowledge I can get my hands on. Or who should I get on contact with?
