first off a big thanks to HTXreef for letting me know where to find all the material and giving a great visual to work off of! it would not of been easy or affordable without his help. so heres my DIY stand ive still got a few 45's to put on couple of welds left and the feet but i im pretty happy with it overall. hopefully it holds my 210 gallon. 20201022_175148.jpg 20201101_143504.jpg 20201109_181908.jpg 20201109_181942.jpg

Looks good so far. The only suggestion I have is to seal off the open rectangular tubing by welding 1/8” plate over the open ends. You want to try to keep salt water out of there so it doesn’t rust out on you quicker. What are you planning on coating the stand with? Looking forward to seeing this build!!

i left it open so i could slide supports for a shelf to stand on when i have to clean the tank. the stand is tall, around 43 inches and well im not! its painted with a center brace now. just waiting to get my tank back.

How heavy is this compared to a wood stand?

ya aluminum would of been awesome but i wasnt set up to weld it and the price is up there for some thing that will be covered. as far as longevity theres plenty of options to protect the steel. i guess i should also add that i did go ahead and put a center support on it.
