Has anyone ever lost a long tentacle anemone. I have pulled some rocks looked in the overflow and sump but it’s nowhere to be found. Is there anything that could’ve eaten it? Urchins, snails, fish, fire shrimp? It was decent sized about 8” fully extended and about 3” balled up. 9E97D151-41B1-4C6F-944D-A974B5B99839.jpeg

i dont think anything can eat a anenome that big in 1 day have you looked in the sand (buried? ) or i know this sounds very stupid but by some weird chance did it get lanched out of the tank somehow

I have no clue. This is weird to me. I didn’t sift through any sand and almost positive it couldn’t make its way out of the tank. I thought maybe it got sucked up by a power head but no changes in water parameters or extra skimmate.

If you have any overhangs or swim through in the rock work it can be hiding up in the arch where you can’t see it.

I’m leaning towards death of the anemone. I have pulled some rock to get to the sand bed and can’t find it. I’m going to sift through the sand to see if I can find it and remove it. I’m sure it dying would cause at least an ammonia spike but haven’t seen one yet

well i did learn one thing if moving everything is bad and the dead body isnt causing problems and cant be seen than don't go looking for it unless you have to and if its alive it will find its way out
