so i walk in to a store saw this fish . Moorish Idol , 19 bucks wow could not pass this offer up , it bright full of color . i had no ideal this was a hard fish to care for , anyone can give me advise on what to feed it ? tried brine mysis and seaweed and flake pellets , water is perfect but he is being dumb and not eating

How long has tank been running and how big is your tank? These fish will adapt better if your tank is big(125g+long lenght) and mature, talking like nothing less than a year old. They will pick at the rocks for sponge or pods. The smaller the fish the better chance it will live. Try feeding it clams on the half shell or rubber band some silversides to a rock. They have to eat "all the time". It will lose weight fast and they are ich magnets. You can also buy some live snails and they will eat this too. Once they figure out what prepared food is you shouldn"t have a problem unless it gets ich or another fish is stressing it. Make sure no other fish is harrassing it b/c it will or won't eat.

iv got bunch of idols in my tank and they are all eating well do what mike says best of luck make sure no other fishes will harassh it let it be the king of the tank
