Thanks. He's doing well. He no longer hides when I approach the tank and gets along with everyone. It's strange - my white tail bristletooth tang never bothered anybody before, but he was kind of a jerk to the parrotfish at first, but seems ok now. I still haven't seen the parrotfish eat anything substantial. He scrapes the rock quite a bit for bits of algae and pods. When I feed Nori, he hangs out near the feeding frenzy (which, surprisingly to me, includes the filefish) but will only eat if very tiny pieces break loose.

Interesting. He'll probably eat like a pig in 2 months.

These anemones are getting a bit out of hand. Between the two of them, the "cone of death" where I can't put any corals without risk of them getting stung is over 20% of the aquascape. Good thing they're pretty, and watching the tentacles flowing in the current can be pretty relaxing.

I tried to get a picture that would really show the size of the nems, but the timing wasn't quite right. One day I tried to measure them, and when the current hits just right, I estimated about 14 inches from tip to tip.

Looking good. How’s everything doing now with the tank.
Thanks. SPS are doing well, nems are doing too well, fish are doing well, and some LPS are doing well. The candy cane colony has recovered beautifully. Unfortunately, the Lobo, one Trachy, the bubble, and moon brain corals are not doing well at all. I have been dosing nitrate and phosphate regularly, but they are not responding. I'm somewhat tempted to take those four out into a separate tank where I can raise the nitrate and phosphate to levels much higher than I would want in the display tank and see what happens.

This bird's nest is looking especially pretty today. It is quite variable in appearance, looking more green if the polyps are retracted and more pink/purple when they are out more.

Unfortunately, it may be doomed, or I may have to move it. In their evil plot to take over the world, the anemones are getting perilously close to the bird's nest. In fact, while my wife and I were watching, one tentacle actually did touch it and hung on to it for 10 seconds or so.

Haha, if you see a thread titled something like "two huge nems for sale", you'll know why.
Is that the birds nest that you got from me?! If so, that sucker has been growing it’s but off!

It looks like I may have to rethink what I've been calling my hitchhiker coral for the last 17 years. I never got a definitive ID on it, but it looked sort of like a Lobophyllia, so that's what I'd decided it was.

However, Diver's Den has a Symphyllia for sale today that is a dead ringer for my coral.

Also, the more Lobos I see for sale, the less I think they look like mine.

Now I just have to decide if I'm more willing to change than my grandmother was. She had an African grey parrot, and since they are almost impossible to sex without a DNA test, she called it "him". After about 20 years, one day out of the blue it laid an egg, but she refused to start calling it "her" after all that time.

I'm really loving the color of this CB Maleficent. I've got to get rid of the dag blasted vermetid snail that keeps casting the web towards this coral. I've tried several times to pull it off with pliers but I never seem to be able to get the critter itself.

That looks nice Frank. Where did you pick that little beauty up from?
