oh i should probably update that i have a fancy-schmancy new electronic heater that has a 3-degree range which is more like 2 since it never goes over but ya the temp is stable the only heater problem is the quartine tank which is online which has a meh heater and is only for emergencies
i also have a thermometer too make sure that the heater doesn't malfunction
Are you logging your temperature electronically? You may want to consider reef-pi since you are on a budget, its a good little experience to try and you can upgrade as you go (so like in the first one, maybe temp monitoring only, then add PH, then add outlet control etc).

I have a reef-pi on my water change station (I didn't trust it enough to run on my tank originally) but it's pretty accurate. The bigger changes are when I added more water.
