it has a built in overflow & refugium in the back it will soon contain mangroves already has chaeto algae and about 10lbs of live rock and 4lbs of sand to anchor the groves...

it is driven by a maxi jet 900 for a return and 2 koralia 1's to keep the flow up..

inside u will see 40lbs of live rock placed by me 8)

it is topped with an outer orbit 150 mh 20k ushio bulb with 4 t5 ho bulbs as well a 24 inch coral life freshwater grow light for the refugium..

nice tank..i was just wondering how much the tank cost. You're pretty much open-ended on corals since it has mh. sps can grow in it. let it fully cycle 1st before you do anything.

Congrats on your new tank.

Just a couple tips:

1. No skimmer = frequent water changes. During the cycle, I'd do 50% a week. (I just finished doing 50% changes every other day for almost two months in a hyposalinity treatment tank; I'm not telling you to do anything I wouldn't do myself). After the cycle, add fish slowly (1-2 a week), monitor everything (especially ammonia) and you can probably go to 2 weeks between changes. Skimmers remove organics BEFORE they break down in your tank. I suggest you look into getting one.

2. You'll want to get those wires up and out of the way a bit more than they are.

3. That tiny UPS won't last very long with a 150W halide, I would just run 1 koralia and the return pump on it the backed up bank of outlets.

4. I wouldn't put tangs in a tank that size if you don't already have plans for a larger tank. (I have a Sohol Tang in a 33G cube, but I've also got a 180G tank right next to the 33G that's being put together right now)

The tank looks great.

Some tips for you:
-No tangs in a tank that small
-K1s are weak so try to increase flow a little bit more
-Try finer sand, the bigger particle sand traps a lot of crap and overtime it screws up the eco system.
-The rock works look great except the tonga pieces. See if you can place those in your fuge.

Good Luck!

if u add a purple in it and then add a yellow, i think u are asking for trouble in a tank that size

Looks clean. Im jealous of the small flame angel.I wish i could put one in mine, but its a hit or miss with those in a reef tank..

Have you thought of putting a vortech in there, that was the best thing i could do to my cube tank.
