The mystery is solved. Today I found out why my tank crashed. Back when it crashed. I unplug everything to clean and salvage what I can. With the weather getting colder, i was preparing the tank for the cold by cleaning both of my heaters. As I removed one heater, I saw that it was cracked open. This is one of those ceramic heaters that was supposed to be unbreakable. I believe this cracked heater was what caused my healthy tank to just crashed over night. Attached is a picture of the heater.

Mine broke last summer and luckily I had a chiller. Chiller still wasn’t able to keep up temp kept going up. I thought it was the chiller but found out it was my heater was stuck on. Not cracked just failed to turn off or moderate. Tank got to 88 before I was able to get home and diagnose. Stressed/lost a few sps because of it.

Ohhh noooo... that is one of the most jarring things. Leaving everything in good order and return to find things like that leaves you sleeping with one eye open. Sorry you had to experience that.
