My AC broke and my temp is increasing above 80 deg in my tank. I’m looking for an AC tech that can come out today. Please pm if you know anyone.

Sorry to hear that..
It's going to be tough to get quick service this time of year.
I would try and locate a couple portable AC units to hold you over in the meantime.

👆 yes... just throw some cubes in a ziplock and drop it in the tank. it wont pull it down to 78 in this heat but it will keep it cooler than doing nothing. also, i don't know how bad your unit failed, but you can turn the AC part off and run the fan to keep air circulating. then, check your filters and put new ones in. hose down the condensing unit ( that big ol radiator outside with the big fan blades). they get dirty and prevent air from moving through the heat exchanger. just clean it really well with the jet spray from the garden hose. then turn the ac part back on and see if it starts cooling again.

Not sure what's wrong with your A/C, but I've had two issues this year so far.

My fan stopped working. My A/C guy sold me a "used" (hardly) universal fan motor. Took a night to install it, but not bad for $10.

Now the Compressor isn't turning on in the middle of the day. You can check if this is the problem by hosing the compressor (within the outside fan unit) down with water. I just put up a pop up tent and it's working great. Not a long term solution, but I am going to build a better "cover" for it soon to limp it through to the winter when my A/C guy said he'll do the install for parts only as a favor to me.

I’m switching floating bags of ice on two separate tanks every 20min or so. I have 2 fans pointed at the sump. Unfortunately both tanks are not connected and I no longer have a chiller. Doing all that has kept them in the 77deg range

Good news- i have a tech oh his way out and hopefully this gets fixed. Thanks all.

I filled up, after cleaning them well, some gallon jugs halfway with rodi and them Superglued the cap on. Froze them and used several in rotation during Katrina. Saved my tank. I also keep a generator and window ac unit in case these things happen. I’ve actually used the ac unit twice now when my capacitor went out and the other was a bad TXV valve that had to be ordered. $125 well spent.

I don’t have a window anywhere near the room my tanks are in. I was looking for a portable AC but i haven’t been able to find any with decent reviews. Can anyone recommend a portable unit? I need something that won’t blow hot air back into the room.

a portable ac will need a vent/dryer hose run to the outside, garage or somewhere that is not part of the cooling area.

@TX_Punisher i also have a genny and window ac unit on hand for when i have to "rough it". it has come in handy. although i must admit, i have run tank powerheads during hurricanes and other power outages but the window unit is for me 😑

EMCO Air conditioning ... they are pretty quick to respond. I called them out last week for a checkup and they came within a couple hours.
