I’m probably going with a Profilux controller this time because I’m a big GHL fan and always have been.

That said, I haven’t had much problems with my Apex’s and not sure how a Profilux will stack up. I hear there’s a learning curve, but I’d love to see somebody that’s had one play around with the programming so I can see if it’s something I’d be interested in. I like the Apex because of the failsafes and the ability to have 2-3 pH probes. Not sure how many probes Profilux will allow you to have.

I believe webster1234 has had it for awhile you can ask him! I have had apex and only had one issue but that issue destroyed my experience . Looking to make a switch heard the new hydro controller works pretty well. GHL has been super underrated more of a international brand .

I have never been one for controllers...having a single fail point always concerned me.

But after rebooting my tank and pouring a quite a bit of money into it I completely get why you would want something that you can monitor while away at work or vacation.

When those Biden bucks hit, I am going to breakdown and get that Hydros Controller.

I thought that for awhile also. Why spend that money if I can get cheaper options . Although I’m off the apex band Wangon and some what back on partially lol. Having a controller has helped out a lot . I used to travel often and being able to monitor all the levels and if temp spikes for some reason and failsafes don’t work I can manually turn off .

My problem with apex is there warranty on parts you spend so much money on the controller but my EB8 lasted 2 years and power supply blew. They asked me to send my unit in on my own dime and had to pay for repairs on top. Eb832 costs $280 brand new , this shouldn’t be breaking this soon . But anywho that’s my 2 cents on Apex POS [emoji38]

I am a Neptune fanboy but this light is a joke! d2cac16f80ac9f275c45169a54054eb8.jpg
That is one insane board. Honestly I haven’t had too many problems with my Apex’s. I just wish the warranty was better. I know that a lot of people have had different things fail after a few years. I think Fish of Hex has his brain fail one time in the middle of a weekend.

I used their original for several years with no issues. Then used the newer version for a year and a half w/o issues. So I’m not sure which controller to get next. It will most likely be GHL or another Apex.
