This sensor plugs into your FMM and, using reflected infrared light, will signal your Apex when it changes state from being wet to dry or dry to wet. This sensor can be used for constructing your own ATO (auto-top-off), as a high-level warning sensor in your sump, water storage level sensor, and much more. The sensors can be mounted on any type of reservoir that has up to 1/4" thick walls.

Compatible with Neptune FMM Module
Magnet mounts to walls up to 1/4" thick
Can be mounted vertical or horizontal

Neptune Systems why oh why didn't you use stronger magnets? My sump walls are 3/8" thick. I'm assuming the magnets are too weak for this thickness?

Anyone have any mods for thicker walled sumps? I'm not really keen on drilling the sump.

I do have some magnets I could use on the outside.

D84PC-BLK
Dimensions: 1/2" dia. x 1/4" thick
Tolerances: ±0.004" x ±0.004"
Material: NdFeB, Grade N42
Plating/Coating: Ni-Cu-Ni-Plastic
Magnetization Direction: Axial (Poles on Flat Ends)
Weight: 0.198 oz. (5.61 g)
Pull Force, Case 1: 3.45 lbs
Pull Force, Case 2: 5.57 lbs
Surface Field: 3775 Gauss
Max Operating Temp: 176ºF (80ºC)
Brmax: 13,200 Gauss
BHmax: 42 MGOe
These great magnets are coated with a durable layer of plastic. The 1/2" x 1/4" dimensions are the finished dimensions of the plastic coating. These discs can be slammed together many times without damage. They won't mark or scratch surfaces they come in contact with. They are also completely weatherproof. Please note: Slight color variation may occur from order to order.

Have you tried replacing the outside magnet with a rare earth magnet to see it has more magnetic umpf?

I don’t have sensors or FMM yet.

but that is what I was saying (not very well)I had at the bottom of the post (rare earth magnet).

As light as that sensor is.... my bet the magnet is gonna hold it! I use one on my saltwater storage container to let my stenner know when to stop doing auto water changes and send me an alert to make more saltwater. They hold pretty strong but I do have to use a toothbrush every so often to clean them off. They are cheap, try it out... fjw or galactic usually have them in stock.

Well my post was all over the place and fairly disjointed. [emoji1]
