First meaningful post on the forum (not bumming for chaeto) Have a new 10 gallon at the office cycling with some rock from my tank at the house. Years ago I bought one of the RapidLED retrofit kits for a Biocube 14 and decided to yank that and make a new hood for this tank using that kit (12 Cree LED's). Used one of my favorite woods to work with at the moment, spalted pecan which also has a bunch of beetle boring in it. One thing I like is the book shelf I have over the tank which allowed me to use magnets to hang the hood over the tank.

Undecided on stocking so far, I work half days every Friday so I need to stock it in a way that will be generally self sufficient for 2.5 days over the weekend.

Haha. That was my easy attempt to mark water level in the return pump compartment. The black coating on the back wall is ever so slightly translucent when you shine a light in it so I marked it on Friday to see how much evaporation happened over the weekend. :)

Ah ok, makes sense (y)
I know you're undecided on stocking, but I would suggest a pistol shrimp (red stripe) and a shrimp goby (or pair) or some kind. Always loved watching those guys in my old nano.

Thats definitely one of the leading options, or the generic clown/anemone (RBTA maybe?) combo. Just nervous about ~3 consecutive days without feeding a week. Guess I could suck it up and auto feed once over the weekend.

That is a nice light fixture
Thanks!

I am not super confident with led intensity or color combinations yet. This kit came with 6 royal blue and 6 white LEDS which looks decent aesthetically but I am contemplating getting a red and violet to replace two of the whites with to get a little better colors. I am running it at 60% but without coral for the moment I can't judge if its too much or not enough.

First coral inhabitant to 'test the waters'. All parameters look decent for the most part. 50% water change for tomorrow, gonna try to do this every Friday

Probably get a couple small red-legged hermits soon.

Progressing slowly but surely, going through some stupid phases of pests but nothing crazy. :)

My controller for my light broke so I have a temp light on there till I get that fixed.

Duncans that were already in the tank plus all the new goodies to be added over the next couple of days from the bus tour!

Everything from the weekend made it in the tank today. I think this will be the majority of stocking for the near future, although I am considering some red cap on the upper left side of the rock-work.
