One of my reefs has pink sponge like material growing everywhere. Now getting concerned as its taking over a few corals. Doesnt look like a plant
but a sponge. Any one encounter this and how to get rid of it. Added 15 emerald crabs that doesnt seem to be helping. Will do pics this week if neccessary.

Do you have a pic? I recently talked to a guy that had Orange sponge like coralline looking stuff taking over his tank.

When I picked up my UCC coral yesterday, Stephanie showed me a tunicate that she said spreads quickly and can smother nearby coral... maybe you have something similar.

I have this in one of my tanks too. I believe it to be a type of hair algae, and I am going to dose fluconazole to see if it kills it. Should take a few days to see if it works. I’ll post my results.
