Yeah boyz, I got the American DJ power strips in on both sides for easy plug and play access until an Apex goes on the system.
I’ve mounted these into each side for easy plug-in from the sump area. If you’ve been in the game for a while you know that some equipment is easier to plug in on one side.
Example:
Lighting like my PowerModule has a plug on one side.
A Powerhead that’s on the “left side” is easily plugged in on the “left side.”
A return pump (depending on which way you have the flow of your sump running) is easily plugged in on the LT or RT side.
Heaters may be on one side or you may have one on each side.
An ATO or Skimmer could be on either side.
You guys get the point. So having power outlets on each side makes life a lot easier. I can also spread the load a bit easier.
Plus, having a place that is easy to plug and unplug is key for future maintenance. Not only that, but having easy access to the toggle switches for quick on/off. Another thing to consider is “how to hide all those freakin’ wires.” I’ll be running some wire management trays over the back of the outlets to hide the plugs. Everything will be routed nice and neat when it’s completed. I’ll have to sand the area and hit it with another coat of paint before I’m done. The jigsaw of course roughed up the finish.
