Top Aquatic, he was eating like a pig in the store.

Congratulations on the new fish. He’s a beauty.

If the fish is eating like a pig, it really doesn’t mean he’s free of parasites. Keep in mind that many fish eat like pigs and have Brooklynella, Velvet, ICH, and Uronema.

Be careful man. Assume all fish have a parasite when you buy them.

You did the right thing getting him in the QT. Do not take him out until he’s been spotless with no signs or symptoms for 4 weeks if you’re not treating with medication. He needs to be observed daily under good lighting.

Best of luck! If you have any questions, please pm me.

I will start to treat him with CP this afternoon. I had been watching him at the store for over a month, he was in a tank with corals and a Hippo Tang.

Good deal. PM me if you need help. Sounds like he’s probably gonna be faily good, but ICH and other issues may pop up.
Thanks for the offer, if I have any questions I will be sure to send you a PM.
I was under the impression that CP got rid of Ich.

I got it from another member on Marsh.

Do you know where he got it or how long he’s had it?

CP really needs to come from a Vet or DR. It can expire so be careful if you are unsure where it came from or how long the person had it.

You’d be surprised how long people hang on to fish medications.

I recently realized that a lot of my meds that were expired. I just threw them all away and ordered some new medication.

It is pharmaceutical grade, he got it from a vet. It has not expired as yet, I saw the container it came in.

Very cool fish-one of my favorites. Mine is growing super fast.

Is this your first tang?

No, I have a Naso, Purple, Hippo, Powder Blue and a Lemon Peel Mimic. I also have a Red Sea Regal Angel and a Diamond Goby. In a separate tank I have a pair of Picasso Clowns.

Yeah make this your last tang addition if possible.

My Sohal shows zero aggression towards other fish species but he is guarding the naso/sailfin/purple/orange should very closely.

RR-MAN...stop man...my heart can’t take the laughing anymore! Lol

Reminds me of a powder blue I had at one time. He bullied another tang to the point of death. He spiked that poor tang with his tail spike. He was up near the surface swimming the perimeter of the tank... gasping and out of energy.

I finally caught and pulled the powder blue. I sumped him for a long time. Weeks! As soon as I put him back in the display, he went straight to that same fish like all this happened just 2 minutes prior and this was weeks back. Tangs have an incredible memory.
