Not a big fan of the rock wall thing....too much detritus gets trapped behind there and becomes a nitrate factory.

Looks like you are off on a good start!

Lighting and filtration are tough in a corner tank. I suggest you ping different members who have corner tanks for advice. It will save you allot of time in figuring out things.

Your aquascaping idea looks great. Since you are starting new, you might want to consider using acrylic rods to get your rock work in place. You could do some neat caves, what not.

try to buy your live sand and live rock from a member on the board, that will help speed things up.

Be patient be patient be patient.

Let us know what your other plans are as well, lighting, filtration, circulation, animal husbandry, etc.

Good luck

sump is in the process of being built currently just waiting on my baffles to finish curing...also going to be using a hang on the back of my sump fuge with chaeto

lighting im thinking of either a TEK 24" with 2 superaqua blue bulbs and 2 super blue actinic bulbs... or a 24" 250w sunpod metal halide...

(if anyone has these lights for sale id love to take them off ur hands or an equivalent.)

and thank you for ur input so far.

as far as fish selection i havent figured out what i want to do... any suggestions im willing to hear everyone out however there is one fish ive been keeping in the back of my mind its a radiata lion so plz build ur selection off knowing this... or as i said im open to everything its not set about the lion just thought so far..

but heres one ? i have in all my tanks i currently have and have ever kept before ive used black live sand u can find at ur lps around u but was curious what kind of substrate most members prefer and if you could include a picture.

The rock stack you drew is noble, but keep in mind you'll have to find rock pieces that are the size you need to make that wall work. I like gaps between my rocks so my flow can get in there, and my fish have places to get their swerve on. :) It's just preference.

That last sentence was a difficult one to understand, but I think I got it. You want to know what sand people prefer. Dude... that's a topic that can get heated. Let's just chalk it up to preference, too. :)

If you'd like to see a build thread on another corner, just search on my name here, or click on my link in my sig. I've pieced together what has come to be my funnest hobby... mostly everything was bought from a member of this board, too.

Welcome to corner-mania! It's a love/hate relationship, to say the least.
