Not new to the hobby but new to Marsh. Just moved to Cypress and looking to connect with fellow hobbyists nearby 👋

I currently have a mixed reef 10g IM fusion and recently started my 4g pico water box back up and converting that to a macro algae/critter tank. Nothing crazy but just enough to scratch the itch!

Cut me some slack, we just moved and my tank is not looking great! I lost several frags from the freeze and the move. So I plan to restock the tank at Reef Currents 😎

Order was put in for aquacultured Florida live rock (salty bottom), so excited to put that in the pico and see what kind of critters I get. I should start a build thread for that.

So salty bottom is the company you're buying it through? I've exclusively used Tampa Bay Live Rock but the guy retired this past year and I'm not sure if anyone took up the mantel.

I purchased through Salty Bottom. They offered smaller live rock packages(5-10lbs). Smaller outfit but it’s been great working with them, very communicative.

What type of macros do you plan to use? I'm new to saltwater, started my first tank in December, but i just got an im 20 peninsula aquarium and I've seen some gorgeous macroalgae aquascapes on IG and wanted to try one myself. Any tips and pictures would be really appreciated!

I don’t have a planned stock list, just some ideas floating around. When the live rock gets delivered, it should have various macros on the rock. I’m going to see what survives the initial die off and go from there! But I’ve kept macros in the past, codium was one of my favorites. I’ve never kept blue ochtodes(sp?)so that’s high on my list. I don’t know if I can link YouTube videos here but check this video out:

I’m not on IG but I might have to join to see the updates. He’s not active on YouTube unfortunately. Good luck with your tank, looking forward to seeing updates.
