Welcome to MARSH! We look forward to getting to know you, the family, and your tank!

Galveston is the best place for collecting and we have many members who visit nearly every weekend to do some harvesting.

Thanks. I would really like to find a place to collect a variety of small shrimp and crustaceans to use as feeders for our seahorse as well as a place to collect wild seahorses. If anyone knows of such a spot(s) please let me know.

@chris85 and @reefahholic are both great resources for prime collecting spots.

Supporting members even get to attend a fun summer collecting trip and bbq in Galveston hosted by one of our members, if you haven't already done so you should consider becoming a supporting member, it pays for itself after one member only event.

Could you share the details of this trip or do I have to be a member first?

It still being planned. As soon as we have a Saturday locked in and we get closer to the date we will post. Essentially we enjoy a tasty bbq and then head out to do some harvesting. Some of us will stay into the evening and go harvesting off of the jetties. You can find rock nems, peppermint shrimp, glass shrimp, pipe fish, blennies, molly's, spade fish, hermit crabs, porcelin crabs, erc...there is a thread in the general interest forum called
"Its Almost That Time Of Year" and it is jam packed full of pics, stories, plans, lists, and is a good place to make plans with other members to meet up. You will need a permit and some basic gear but its lots of fun!
