Statewide system failures. Multiple power plants are offline. 75% of state impacted. Possibly Tuesday or longer. Lets hope they're wrong.

Dig in folks...prepare for the worst.

Just lost power here. I’m glad I cleaned out the carburetor on my generator yesterday.

We deal with these outages a lot up here in Michigan. If you have battery backups just keep the heater going. The tank getting cold is the worst. You can go with out flow for a while. We had a 36 hour outage a month back. Lost my flow but everything made it.

Wow I must be lucky, have had no issue with power in 77546.

Had no Internet and very poor cell service up to an hour ago. Kids are getting stir crazy we went out and played in the street for 20 minutes before it got to be too cold.

I am surprised to hear about power outages in Michigan... I am 2 km direct to its border. We very rarely get an outage.. If we do it is in the summer and fixed in no time at all. An hour or 2 tops.

Our average outage is a few hours but about once a year we get a 12 hour plus outage. Wind is actually the cause of most of our problems. I live on the very edge of Edison's border map so it takes longer to get fixed.

Ok where in Michigan are you at Melanie ? I got a buddy out by Smithsville. Come to think of it I think he once told me his power can just go out for days. He says they just don't give a dam.

Just outside of Lansing. I know people by Ferndale that lose power super easy and they are in the city. Old infrastructure in a lot of place. I'm about 2 miles from the DTE and lansing board of electric border. Can take a bit for DTE to get out here for big storms.

Had power in Cypress until about 6:45 this evening. As I am new to the hobby, I do not have a back up plan. Figured I at least had until hurricane season. I am not planning on anything surviving.

Cover the top and wrap the tank. That might help, but without a backup plan, you might be in trouble. Let me know if I can help with anything going forward.
