Outages in Pearland since 4am. I'm glad I have a generator ready on standby.

Yeah we lost it Sunday night around 2:30am I think. Yes generator is definitely a life saver in this situation.

We lost power for around 17 hours yesterday. Used an inverter in my truck for most of the day then got ahold of a generator for the last 5 hrs or so.

My reef was at 71-72 all day yesterday. True mixed reef with a few acros anemones etc.

Honestly I never saw anything stress out too much. It was never without circulation for more than two hours. Lost a return pump and had to figure out a replacement in the dark.

@BigRick how are you doing? You have tanks at warehouse too?
Power went out at 2AM... Ran the generator for the whole house til power restored around 3. So been with grid power since. No blackout. Warehouse backups held enough til power restored. Was about to take that 2nd generator to my parents at lakes on eldridge with no power/water. But the brass fuel shut-off valve broke so now wondering if I should fix it ... but by then hopefully power comes back on.

And I’m a fat man so....
Lol we been around too long to know better.... I knew this would be way worse then what said and power outages were gaurenteeed. Thanks to David (reeftopia) I didn't wait a minute longer. We've all lost too much cause we comptemplated instead of reacting knowing better..... so I say you're a knowledgeable man 👌 I'm just worried how many have lost a lot. Most dont even have internet access and cell towers are horrible.

Yep. My wife said I was crazy buying the 1st 15g. She said I was crazy yesterday when I refilled 10g. Not so much today when I went to refill again.

Don’t get me wrong. I used to love skiing and snowmobiling. But sitting in a 49° house watching fresh dog turds steam in the backyard is for the birds.

I just talked to a retired Center Point guy. He said the power is fine, but the state is calling the shots telling them who to cut. The demand is so high he said it’s like trying to heat your house with a blow dryer when it’s this cold. That’s why up north they all use gas. Center Point has no control over this.

I’m out in Katy, more towards Fulshear. We lost power around 2AM Monday morning and didn’t get it back until 11:30AM today. Then went out again around 5:30PM and just came back up around 8PM. Hopefully no more outage 🙏🏻. I hear some didn’t have water too. Hope everyone pulls through this one without any losses. I pulled through because our house was on generator back up. Got to know some neighbors better as they came over for warmth and coffee. Great investment when you think how much you have sunken in this hobby.

I swear.. I am disappointed and yet happy at the same time when I find it’s just operator error. Disappointed because I confirm I’m an idiot but happy because.. well I found out I was just doing something wrong and I can fix it.

My tank was without power for 36 hours. Had battery powered air stones, but no way to keep the tank warm. Was set up for a warm weather power outage, but not a cold one. All fish are MIA and suspected dead. Corals look rough and trying to warm the tank now since we have power again.
