Gorgeous blue throat Trigger from a local shop that was in their tank for a little bit.
Added to my FOWLER tank and he was shy the first couple of days competing for food with a Humu trigger.
Afterward, he was eating OK and was wondering the tank nicely. I admit, probably my favorite (Wife likes the Humu).
This morning I noticed he didn't come out to eat, neither this evening. I checked with a very low power flashlight the cave where he used to hide and he was there breathing.
I used the coral feeder tube to give him some Mysis Shrimp. Pretty sure I saw him eating in there.

About 30 minutes later, I installed a Radion G4 light (The tank had no light, but there was some light from the tank next to it).
2 hours later I checked on the tank and I found him dead in the back right side of the tank!!!
I immediately checked the water parameters, with a RedSea Marine Care kit. Ammonia = 0, Nitrate = ~2, Nitrite = 0.1

I know the Humu is a s.o.b but I never actually saw him bully the BJT although he would try and stay away from the super hyper Humu.
I know they can get stressed, etc, but after 2 weeks? Any ideas? I have had new additions to my reef tank with no issues. I plan on holding off any new additions to the aggressive tank for a little bit I guess? Also, I think it is time for the Humu to be re-homed!

I will try to re-home the Humu. I can tell the baby Clown Trigger and the BlueJaw Trigger were probably intimidated by him and struggled a bit for food.
They were pretty calm, but that Humu has some serious HDAD! LOL

That's what I figure. Still two very expensive lessons back to back!
I lured the Humu this morning with shrimp inside a net and he went straight into it. LOL He's now in one of my 20 long gal QTs while I decide what I am going to do with him.

I the meantime, I programmed the light schedule to mimic as much as possible the light in the reef tank.
Now to wait and check if the baby clown trigger is alive. :cautious:

Oh man sorry to hear that.

Yeah the Humu is a super active fish and can bully other fish.
