So during tank maintenance, I found this hiding at the back of my display. I didn't buy it and I have no idea what it is. It is in a high flow area and is firm. It doesn't retract. There are 3 bubbles so far. I can take the rock that it is on out if I need to.

It is good or bad? And what in the world is it?!

So after most of the afternoon spent on the Internet looking for info, it appears to be an invasive kind of bubble algae that had no known predators. I promptly removed it.

It took me 5 years and two tanks before I got rid of mine. 2004-2009... From a nanocube to my 65-gallon. It even made the trip from California back to Texas with me. [emoji30]

Well, I only found the the little bubbles of it and I threw out the whole rock it was on. Hopefully that will be the last of it

How did you eventually get rid of it?

It's so long ago but I remember just a ton of manual removal and I think it eventually lost out to other algaes and maybe chaeto in the tank.
