hi. fish doing the electric boogie and shaking off (what i presume to be flukes) so did some research and found some info for paraguard but still had a few questions.

can i dose prazi and para together
dosing para @5ml per 24hrs (10g qt tank)
life cycle of flukes (I read some things about that but no word on how long the tank will need to be fallow or how long the adults can survive without a host)

any info is appreciated. thank you and Merry Christmas

@Humblefish ? Can seachem Paraguard and Prazipro be used at the same time?

If fish are in QT praziquantel and Metronidazole are a good combo.

API General Cure + SeaChem Metroplex

He has a good write up on his website: Humblefish.com

Yes I read that. Very informative but all the live cycle discussions relied on having an available host. I am feeding pellets soaked in metroplex/focus and have been for a while.
The clowns all had lots of black spots but it looked like hyper melanozation (or whatever that’s called) So I dismissed it.
I had also suspected Gill flukes due to extended gills and treated with prazi but im sure I did not dose too hard because it was dt and didnt want to kill everything.
Then I noticed shakes like trying to shed flukes so decided that it was time to QT and treat.
Been feeding the metro food and started dosing the para. Now I need to see how long to qt so that the dt can cycle out and the fish need to be in the qt tank. Whew that’s a lot of words.

According to the humblefish forum, he's dealing with a terrible family issue and might be scarce. One of the other mods might help though. ,
I've only used paraguard in observational quarantine, I don't have experience with it fixing an active problem.

Sorry for the delayed reply.

I don't like mixing other medications with Prazipro (if it can be helped) due to the solubilizing agent it contains.

If your fish have flukes: Dose Prazipro, wait about a week, do a 20-25% water change and then repeat dosage. Or use this treatment calendar to determine when is the best time to add the second dose: Marine Parasites

Hi. Hope everything is alright on your end. Thank you for the response. I will transition to Prazi. Any word on long the display should stay fallow?
