Actinic is not a must. 10000k will work just fine although it probally won't look that good. Send that 660 off to Ice Cap VHOs are much better than PCs.

Remember that "blue bulbs" and actinic 03 are different.

I've been running Actinic 03 PC bulbs, thinking that "true" blue lighting is better... but these bulbs are not as bright by a long shot.

I decided that at my next bulb change (should be every 8 months for PC's) I'm switching back to 5500k or standard blue bulbs. Corallife calls them actinic, but I really don't think these are true actinic 03 bulbs.

BTW - www.hellolights.com is a great, low cost place to buy replacement bulbs. I'd buy fixtures and ballasts off Ebay though... there's a company that just sells them dirt cheap there... can't remember the name off hand. PM me if you really need it and I'll search for it for you.

Are planning on Qting your corals? If not any light and even abmbient room light will work for fish.
