I will need to replace my cell phone soon and while I’m not planning on spending a lot of extra $ just because of the camera, I was wondering if there are any general recommendations for or against a particular model. I have a Galaxy S7 now and camera-wise it’s fine, except for the obvious difficulty taking good tank shots. I assume I will need an external orange filter regardless of the phone I choose. Are there any other built in features to look for?

TIA

I don’t know much about non-apple phones, but I definitely recommend the icecap phone filter, plus there’s a big sale on icecap stuff right now. I use this filter for everything.

I was looking at the Orphek kit. I will look into icecap as well. Thanks.
Just out of curiosity, what iPhone model do you have/how long have you owned it?

Some phone shave "macros" shots available, not sure which one.

Without breaking the bank the Pixel 4A just came out, and has an impressive camera. Not bad for $350.

It’s not like I take a lot of pics of my tank, but since I switched to LEDs it’s hard to get good color. Figure if I have to get a new phone anyway, I may as well take the camera into consideration 🙂

I have the galaxy s10 plus and it has the pro mode that allows me to set the white balance to 10k. Looks pretty good to me. I do still plan on getting the orphek kit just to compare. I've also read that just holding up a pair of coral viewing glasses in front of your lens, makes a big difference.

Thanks, everyone. Not sure how I managed to luck into this deal, but I ended up getting a Galaxy s20 for 0 down and $5/ month x 30 months! I don’t care what the camera can do, that’s a steal 😁🥳😎🤗
