7.5 Watt or even no heater might be sufficient depending on your ambient temperature.

I'm sorry but I cannot at all make out what is in your video. It's too blurry.

I think stocking it with corals this quickly was pretty ***** and sticking in a cleaner shrimp will also be so IMO.

Look into all the mods for these picos with Aquaclear70s modded into refugiums and upgraded lighting options.

Hey Rotary instead of throwing ****** around why dont you give some positive reinforcement or pointers with out rude remarks first to some one new in the hobby instead of pushing him away. not everyone can b so **** as you.

p.s. looks pretty good man good luck picos are a pretty big undertaking for someone new to the hobby but were all here for help when u need it.

well what do you mean by early? i waited 3 days and the stuff in the tank was already sitting in another tank for a long time before i bought them and stuck them into my tank. everything was just basically moved from their tank to mines. it should hardly cycle. i was just going to stick coral that didnt require as much light. Ill be using my AC20 as the refugium even though it isnt as big as a 70. seems to work pretty good so far. once a week water changes should keep the tank running quite well. thanks diablo for not bashing like rotary.

Try a piece of shrimp or krill to bait the crab. It could be a mantis shrimp esp. if it is digging in the sand.

Is that a chalice coral that you have in there?

Even though the rock has been in another tank, you may still get a small cycle even if its just nitrates getting denitrified which will be signalled by a diatom bloom. I wouldn't chance killing livestock before that. Just my opinion, but you're entitled to do as you please. BTW my first tank was a 6x6x6 Red Sea Candy vase XL like 1gallon. Ran it for 18months before transferring the livestock into a 20long, had great coralline growth and everything did well. The plastic got scratched during cleaning so it was unsightly and I needed another tank. The small tank stigma is overrated, unless you have a SPS picotope then you need to watch your calcium, mag, and alk closely. Topping up is pretty important too.. a remote gravity fed auto topoff would work well.

This is a great forum on another site if you haven't seen it yet.

Looks like you have the same pico? His is a 3g. Your tank might not make much of a cycle being that all your stuff was in a previous tank, but I would get a test kit if you haven't gotten one yet to check your water. Also, be sure to read on stuff before you buy it. With the limited space in a pico, you want to make sure you can take care of what you buy, and be selective with what you put in your tank. I'm not sure about putting a cleaner shrimp in a tank this small, if you'll notice El Fab put sexy shrimp in his, a lot of people enjoy them, and they are entertaining from what I understand. Go really slow with adding things to this tank. You'll notice in the forum that there is almost always a month gap in between him adding things to the tank, so he can make sure they have acclimated to the tank well.

Bumble bee shrimp are a good candidate for picotopes, they only get 1inch. They're scavengers and non-obligate echinoderm feeders. Also active and colorful (most.)

Looking great so far. Just remember to keep up with the top offs. Those little picos look great ( I used to have one) but it can be annoying topping that thing off every day due to evaporation.

I modified 2-3 words in posts on the first page of this thread due to negative & harmful langauge.

This has always been, and will remain, a family based website. Please try to post your thoughts and advice *without* profanity or harmful referrences to certain people.

Purposefully modifying offensive words so that filters do not pick them up for removal is just as bad as writing the word outright.
