Here's a representative sampling of my ~ 40 gallon 'fuge, which has an overabundance of apparently prolific tiny tiger-striped brittlestars. Does anyone have these, and do you have them in huge numbers? I don't know when they hitchhiked in, but they've made themselves at home. They don't move around much, and they don't bother anything. I just wonder what it is that they like so much in my tank.

I have a ton of those from you and now the little white ones are showing up. I have been throwing them in the display tank from time to time to see if I can get the fish to eat them. I'd like to trade baggies of macro at the frag swap with someone to increase my bio-diversity.

What kind of macro are you looking for? I can't promise a whole lot of it, but we're finally developing a decent variety... saw blade, long bladed, feather like (fine), maiden's cup, and of course, grape (this is what I've been pruning back and the others have taken off). And if I can't make it to the frag swap I'm sure I can send it with someone.

Sherri,

I have different stars in my tank. If I did this right you can see them below. They hang out on the glass when the lights are out but are mostly on the rock during the day. On Sunday morning my kids counted 72 of them on my glass. They don't bother anything.

I'll trade you some of mine for yours. If you don't want more, I can trade you a frag for some of yours. Assuming they don't bother anything in the display tank.

PIC DID NOT WORK. I WILL E-MAIL TO YOU.

I've got those things in plague proportions too. I have noticed a significant decline in my tiny white stars and the increase in the tiger striped.

I will say that lately I have caught them on my new frags from Jim Norris. I know good and well he didn't bring them so I have to think they are mine. I have noticed tiny white patches underneath where these stars have been found on the frags.

For now I try to pick them off and either out they go or into the sump although I imagine they find their way back into the tank.
