Yep explanations are needed and people in charge need to held accountable.

Right now grieve the losses. Then when your ready restart the tank. Let it cycle and then take people up on the offers that have been put out there.

It sucks big time. I truly understand having suffered losses myself in the past. I suffered through it pretty much alone. Hoping you will stick with the hobby.
Looking at the bright side, my family made it through alive, my house didn’t get flooded from busted pipes. I guess there are still hopes for me.....

That person is me, thank you Scott. Right now I am sad, pissed, angry, mad, speechless..... this really hurts. I only been in the saltwater hobby for around 3 years, but the times the joys I got from it was so so much fun and excited out of it. Lost fish and corals over the times, but not like this, not like this. How can our officials turn off their citizens power for more than 2 days????? 2 days without power in the coldest days, HOW? HOW?
Don't give up. If @steveb hasn't quit, you should hang in there. Obviously, you should take some time to mourn, but we'll be here for you when you're ready.

I just downsized from nearly 3000 gallons to 600. My 2 Aquariums are in the house now and not in the steel building and this last week I was sure happy about that.
Tanks have been doing well and expect them to be awesome in the near future.
Too bad you still live in Oklahoma. It's hard buy anything from you 😂

I wrote this in another local reefing group. Hope it helps someone here.

No one gets the struggle, y’all feel like that with your family friends?

I’m over here killing myself to save my tank. Around 48 hrs of stress, sweat worry and honestly I feel kinda silly telling people that I’m busy saving my fish tank. I lost a 450g to hurricane ike outages years ago and it was terrible, gross melted anemones and corals and I’m not sure anyone knew how bad that sucked for me. I left the hobby for 10 yrs.

Just wanted to say I get the struggle you are going through. Hang in there, vent to people who understand on here.

I have some frags I can contribute. Nothing fancy but at the very least something to use as a canary to check water quality and so on. I have 3 zoa frags and 1 stylo.

How my tank looks today. Also found out we almost had a fire. One of the powerhead bricks left a big smoke stain on the wall.

Almost being the key word. Glad your family is okay. I was so distraught hearing children dying these last few days that I just had to stop watching the news. The three Sugarland kids that perished in that fire and that little boy freezing to death made me so depressed. I've hugged my little 5 year old a little tighter each night now :-(

I still can’t get over loosing my 9 yr tank fish & corals. I never sold a frag I gave them away because there was no price for my corals. My pair of clown fish had seen hundreds of fish come and go. I gotten them when they were 5 yrs old so they were aprox 14yr old fish. I feel lost and alone. I hear all the stories about many others loosing theirs and it makes me feel worst. Just last May when I got covid I had a crash because I was gone but they all made it. I look back at the first photos when I started and many non reefers don’t know the time and money we put into, they tell me it was just fish but no it was a bond. 96EBF153-1492-4EA0-8EBD-219CA0B982D8.jpeg 7D971D51-145F-425C-8E07-7237921BFE6D.jpeg
