Yea when we first bought our first house I requested something from the state and they had all the home insurance agencies listed with their prices and rating as a good bad great etc. While Germania wasn't rick bottom cheapest they where substantially less than most with a good rating. When we finally went through using claims all in the same year a pipe leaking and hail damage roof we had no problems and where felt fairly with and when an outside person checked on the roof he made a comment who is your insurance with and he looked and said oh your lucky you have them. Something about coverage and how it is paid out. So haven't wanted to change when we feel like it's a good company to deal with.I think we did state farm. I am not 100% tho. It's best to have an independent agent run your numbers. They might screen 60 carriers and find the best price. They will also be comparing apples to apples. If insurance is a different price, there is usually a reason. It might have one feature or leave our another. The right agent can help navigate that.

Yea you have to compare apples to apples not apples to oranges. The lady at this company when I called over 20 years ago explained that to me when I was calling around. Honesty is nice though it might be the individual agency we are using.
