Just thought someone might be interested in this: my psammacora looks like it is dropping a bud, the circled part looks like a bubble and is very loose, actually moving in the current. Maybe scerlite can answer this, isn't this a hard coral? I haven't heard of asexual budding in sps before.
You cant tell in the picture but the "bubble" has polyps on it and I think it will drop very soon. Also, while I am talking about it, does anyone else have psammacora? any pics?

not sure.

but on the other hand, cool pics in your gallery. i like your TX biotope. I always wanted to do a coastal TX tank, but never really had the room or time.

I used to have one, but I don't remember it ever having any type of buds that dropped off. It did grow in some strange formations, though.

I get the vesicles on Psammacora occasionally and it may be either the unusual behavior of captive coral to do this "inflation vesicle" thing with no explanation or it could be a coral polyp extrusion. If it really starts to "drip" down, it may start forming some skeleton inside and then you'll know it's the latter..If that does happen, would you let me know because that would be a new report for the genus. All of mine have just resorbed without producing daughter colonies.

It looks just like a bubble and doesn't appear to have anything inside, I'll keep an eye on it. Justin, you really should do a biotope down in Port A, I have seen lots of cool things down there even butterflyfish out on the jetties.
