I’m fighting a little bit of ammonia in my 15 gallon QT. Very basic setup with HOB filter. Would it hurt to hang a bag of purit directly in the tank? Water changes are moving it in the right direction, but I’m worried it’s not fast enough. I would also like it as a safety net

Have you tried a ammonia reducer like Amquel? The Purit will help with ammonia, but it doesn't directly remove ammonia. I would do water changes in a 15/G tank. Fast, simple, and effective.

I will look into the Amquel. I have been doing water changes and it has helped lower it. I have been a little worried about taking out too much and causing it to cycle again. Thanks. This is really my first attempt at doing a QT for 30 days. I'm scared to death of ammonia, but the fish all seem to be doing fine.

I agree that it is an outstanding product. It has worked wonders in my display tank. I put a bag in my sump and it works circles around plain carbon.
