Any brands or links to an LED that would work for a 12 gallon JBJ? It'll need to rest on the tank or a few inches above. There's not any more space.

This is the older model that originally had power compacts.

Normally, I'd go to City Pets and pick-up a generic LED that looks good, but this is for my brother's aquarium in Austin and he wants to source it himself.

TIA

I have that tank, but it is drilled and in use as a refugium attached to my sump. The lid is in the garage somewhere. I upgraded the reflector, have the ballasts, and I think I still have a spare new in box PC bulb. If it were me, I would not drive all the way to League City to get it in lieu of retrofitting an LED, but if you are interested, you can have it. I can always just set it outside for convenient pick-up.
Cramming all my backyard crap in the garage this week while 2 cars sit in the driveway has pretty much convinced me I need to find a way to get rid of all the extra stuff I no longer need and free up space in my garage.

Ditto, I have a lot of great reef stuff I need to sell or donate way.

His current power compact light works, but we're wanting to upgrade to reduce heat and get a better "bang for the buck."

Understood on the heat. There was a company that specializes in upgrades for these tanks, no longer in business, and that was one of the selling points of the reflector i bought, supposed to reduce trapped heat and improve lamp life i can't tell you how well it worked, and led would definitely be the way to go now it looks like the trashcan will be its next owner
