Is anyone considering buying the Red Sea self leveling DC skimmer? Or upgrading their existing Red Sea skimmer to the DC version? It looks like a really interesting setup. Quite innovative in think.

I took the reg pump off my rsk900 and added the dc pump from sicce last year. Works really good. It’s the same pump Red Sea used for their dc version.

Been working like a charm

I’m really interested in the titanium sensors and how that will work. It has one that goes in the skimmer body which if it detects skimmate that is too wet it will slow down the pump automatically. Also it has a full cup sensor like the Reef Octo you sold me, but the sensor causes the pump to slow down instead of turn off so even if the cup is full the skimmer continues to aerate the tank. It’s a very cool sounding skimmer

yea it looks pretty sweet.

the red sea skimmer isn't built as nice as the elite reef octopus but one of the nice aspects is that you can find replacement parts pretty easy.

all the new red sea gear looks pretty sweet.

new ato, new return pump, and new dc skimmers. really don't have to buy any other brand anymore.

Yeah, the Reef Octopus is awesome. Very well built and the pump is great. They don’t offer an auto timing skimmer though. I haven’t seen anyone else innovating like Red Sea has been with their products.
