@steveb How is your tamarin doing?
Mine has been doing well up until about 3 days ago. I'm starting to notice some pinching behind the head and it looks skinnier than I am comfortable with.
This started after we added a few tangs (yellow, blue hippo, atlantic blue). I'm thinking either he's getting bullied or one of the tangs had some parasite. The lone black molly in the tank isn't showing any signs of poor health.
If it doesn't improve soon I will try to remove it and place in QT so I can make sure its getting enough food.

Mine is still in one of my observation tanks. I have been feeding white worms+live amphipods. Seems to like cyclops so I have started feeding that as well. Mine got pretty skinny before I noticed he wasn't eating anymore in copper but seems to be holding his own. evolved over on R2R suggested I up the feedings to 5x/day.

I'm not sure he will ever move to the display tank for the reason you outlined above. I will have 10 tangs ranging in size from 3" to 5". I'm not sure he is fast enough to compete although my hope is they ignore cyclops since its so small.

Good to hear yours is alive and well.

5 times per day?! Damn.
Yeah i'm thinking the competition for food is probably THE issue here.
IF we're able to catch him, we might find other arrangements. Doesn't seem like it will be compatible with our office tank long term.

Unfortunately, he has died. Found a hermit crab starting to eat the body a few minutes ago.
RIP
He was probably skinny for the last few days, I just didn't think to check since he was eating normally.
Good luck with your sole survivor Steve.

Ohh man, sorry for the loss. I purposely searched this thread a moment ago to ask about how they are doing as I was thinking about adding one and some leopard wrasse, but being labeled as Expert only, I guess I may have to pass or just see if I can find the largest sized ones.

Mine just started eating Reef Caviar - seems to like it even more than Cyclops. So I ordered a few packs as Dennis didn't have any in stock. Funny thing is last week he was spitting it out. Still goes nuts for white worms though.

To be frank its been a real PITA. I have spent a lot of money on live amphipods, white worms, cyclops and now reef caviar. I'm sure I have spent more on foods than I did on the fish. They are beautiful and I hope I can maintain him. I'm not sure that I can ever move him to my display tank. Too many tangs. I think it likely he would slowly starve. but will see how things progress. I need to get his weight back up first.
