IF anyone has any idea why it is so cloudy I am up for suggestions, I put in now a reeffilter between refugium and pump lets see what color it turns so I can see what it is...
I am just not getting why it is so cloudy all the time , and mind you ...I have changed socks , change puri filters, cleaned the whole skimmer still no clearing...
I already ordered the reefmat 1200 btw...so will see how that goes once I install it...
This is how the sump looks like now.

The two most common sources of cloudiness that I have seen are bacterial and/or possibly very fine silt. Did you add any new sand or stir the bottom up?

Nope , I have now started the process of trying to find out...in past 2 weeks i have doen 5 changes of basically 50 % each
The tank clears up for like 30 mins....and its back to cloudiness....

So today I have done the following things:
Another 50% change , my water quality is pristine these days :)
I took out all my bio balls and stuff from my chamber (they were there with my skimmer
I have now a very good keto planted and thriving refugium so feel ok with it
I took out my pad right before my pump and have put in another mechanical filter in
The aquapad that i had in for the past 2 weeks did not turn any color (you know yellow =amonio, blue = copper etc pad) so the pad assured me , and the fish and the corals and leather confirm this that water quality is fine
I have dialed down the 2 mp40's to Lagoon mode from Reef mode and set them to 50%
I have dialed down the pump from 50% to 40% as well

I just finished water change so letting it sit overnight, Kevin from just fish told me to rule out the 'leeching' possibly of the bio matter, so I have moved that to a container with siphoned water now and put it in a large holding reservoir and put in powerheads and oxygen in...just to see if this is the cause of the leech...we shall see...

I am hopeful , it is not the rocks (and how could they as they have been in the tank like forever) so last thing could be the sand too but in all fairness it hasn't been stirred up at all and even when i turn the pumps off when doing my water change the water remains murky...

It's frustrating beacause before this , this tank was a sweetwater tank as well and it was never giving me water transparency issues...

I am dreading to have to drain tank altogether, remove the sand , I mean pretty much a hard reset and don't know how/where to put my stuff ...
I mean the sand was Red sea sand and again prior to me putting in the leathers and fish the sand did not cause any problems in terms of transparency...

The good thing is with this many changes I could say the living items in the tank have never had it better...

One last thing I keep seeding every month like 4 bottles of copepods ...just as a foundational thing...could that be it?
I am so far away from showing this thing off and I am not even really wanting to put more stuff in it until i solve this tbh.

Any comments of help is greatly appreciated...will upload tomorrow vid from sump, to top to sides again

Oh I appreciate that...I am trying to set it up regardless, and I am in Pasadena , Texas, you seem to be in Fresno California? a bit of a drive for me to go get it ;)
However I am trying to research maybe getting one of those submersible ones (aquatop has this nice concept out there I may add ) or even go with an external Carbon/UV cannister set up (and again say that Aquatop has this nice FOrza cannister that does that...
As I don't know if I want to have it permanently in the tank or not (or if I do have the ability to easily remove/maintain....
I saw this one but have no clue of the quality - Adjustable Flow Submersible UV Filter SP13UV (13 Watt) - AquaTop - particularly as it does not mention the lag time for true sterilization....
I mean after all UV does kill all bacteria and when I seed my monthly copepods and items I kind of want to easily turn it off, remove, clean replace pads and what not in the sump....
And again I am still debating if UV is even desirable

Fresno Texas, it’s next to pearland between sugarland

For that price I would not consider that brand. Look at aquauv or pentair unit.

You can get the green killing machine from petco for under 100
