rlpardue(Lee) donated a few babies to my breeding project since all my adult pairs RIP during a disease outbreak 9months ago. Since then, i stop breeding bangaii. now i want to breed them again.
In the video, u will see a fake diy sea urchin. I got that idea from Lee too using plastic cable ties.

Thanks again Lee

They look great. I have a pair that has had eggs three times now with no success. I'm not too sure why, the first time the father ate them at 3 days the second time the father ate them at 6 days and the third time I tried to tumble them my self and the turned white on about the 10th day. So Im not sure why im having issues the my cardinals.

But yours look great and good luck to you.

Awesome Mike! I need to take the ones I still have and put them in a glass box. Keeping them in a bulkheaded bucket is cheap but it's hard to keep track of their health and feeding. They look awesome in your video!

Jay, I've read that feeding heavily in between broods helps, and also it will take a male a few tries before he carries to term. Don't worry, eventually he'll keep 'em. On like day 24 turn on the tank lights suddenly in the middle of the night and net him and move him to wherever you want the babies to grow. I've read he will sometimes eat the babies so it may be a good idea to remove him once he spits. My male kept them in his mouth until around day 28, so I just *gently* opened his mouth and he spit them out.

Good luck with the breeding Mike! Call me if you need any more.

Just a little picture of the other half of the brood. Mike, thanks for the idea about using a plastic container from walmart. ($7!!). I'll never buy another 10g glass tank and bother drilling it again!

Honestly I feel like mine are the same size. I haven't tried feeding cyclops since you told me they aren't actually eating them. I think I'll flush out the bottom of the tank tonight to get all the dead, rotting cyclops out. (some were transferred to the new tank). Then I'll try cyclops again. I have been slacking off on enriching the BBS. I'll enrich for the next couple of days and see if they grow faster. All 16 are still alive though.
