So my addiction started not that long ago and started with learning on a small 10G setup with HOB filter and HOB skimmer. It has now evolved into a 40GB dedicated reef tank and have a 150G planet tank setup being planned out now.
The start of addiction. (Ran for 4 months)
Moved everything from the 10G to my converted 38G Bowfront saltwater and swapped to a 220gph canister filter (Ran for 2 months)
Well shortly after this tank was cycled in I started to get bad algae problems and found the cause was not enough flow and to much lighting, so I began to look for a true overflow tank setup. I ran across a good deal from another member on here with the tank, stand, and sump were just enough to get me going. I was able to setup a decent system to break it in with the extra equipment I had on hand already.
Soon after I got everything setup and tuned to where I like the sump and chemistry, my addiction fully kicked in and decided to go with the best possible new equipment for making this a dedicated reef tank. Plans have been made and waiting for the final equipment plans to order my new Planet Aquarium 150G setup that will be my dream setup and eventual reef tank.
I ordered an entire Current USA system with Bluetooth for the life support system and everyday have been adding small bits to the light schedule and flow rates to improve on the best quality I can build on. Currently I'm looking to build a custom 30x15x15 refugium sump for this system to support the 40G and a independent small 24x24x8 frag tank. Im also going to be upgrade the skimmer with the sump now as well to the BM Curve 5 Elite skimmer, along with all hard piping for drain and return system.
In the attachment I have added my Excel sheet I started with this tank to track everything from my equipment, livestock, to corals. Feel free to copy and start one for your own setup with this sheet, I found that the pics with names for the corals has worked out well to tell who is who.
