So I’ve been having issues with itching and hives on my skin all year. I finally went to a proper allergist, and come to find out, I’m allergic to shrimp, lobster, and oysters and didn’t know it. Do any of y’all have these allergies? I’m wondering if the tank is part of the problem.

Isn’t shellfish allergy usually iodine related if so then yes your tank could be contributing
I have idea. I got the long gloves recently and use them instead of dipping my hands into the water for now. Come to find out, I’m allergic to a lot of things. Some I knew, some I didn’t.

The weird thing about the shellfish or saltwater is that I’m not allergic to clams, scallops, or cod fish. I’m not sure if it’s just an iodine thing, but I don’t really know if those items have high iodine in them.

Cody I am allergic to softshell crabs. I am not allergic to crabs or crab meat. I am only allergic to the enzyme they produce to make their shell release. I was not highly allergic to pollen and dust mites as a child but in my mid twenties to mid thirties I thought I would die. My wife would have echoed those comments because antihistamines turned me into a real ahole and she wanted to kill me. Took allergy shots for about a year and maybe a half. Best thing I ever did.

Yeah we will have to see. I still have one more round of testing where they do the back patch and see what chemicals I’m allergic to. My issue is that I’m already about $800 in the hole and I still have three more visits before we have a final consultation, plus I’ve already met my deductible. The issue isn’t paying it, my issue is with being out potentially $1500 for allergy testing, and that’s before we get to the weekly shots. It’s outrageous. I wish I had my Korean healthcare here.

Yeah its pricey. My toddlers Dr. apt to check her hand for 20 min was 480 bucks. And she will need to do this every 6 months for a few years. That's just the visit and no treatment.

But since you're allergic to your corals you can just give them all to me. Ill let you visit them. :ROFLMAO:

I’ll burn them all to teach them a lesson.
