Hey all! I was introduced to MARSH via a friend of a friend and am happy to join the party!
I've done medium to large complex rift cichlid tanks in the past, as well as FOWLR picos. I've been running my current 10 Gal JBJ peninsula for 2+ months now and thoroughly loving it. This time around I am going for a full reef tank, sticking to mostly LPS, but will try to dabble a bit in SPS.
Current setup is:
10 Gal JBJ peninsula
Current eflux 6004 and controller
AI PrimeHD
AutoAqua Smart Micro ATO (meh) with a 3 gal reservoir
Hygger 50W titanium heating element tied to a Bayite temp controller
Swapped the return pump over for a cobalt MJ404
Battery backup and surge protector
Lots of biomedia in the hanging overflow
Chemipure blue nano bag in the overflow
Stocked with a widebar clown, lubbock wrasse, candy pistol, astria, nessarius, trochus, torch, blasto, some zoas, GSP, and a tyree elegance that has recently become a monster.
Don't mind the cluttered kitchen FTS--it currently sits on the kitchen divider. Thus far it has been a great time and the coral are thriving. The biggest challenges I have had have stemmed from hardware. The stock hygger temp controller (suspect at best) went nuts and caused some huge temp swings, so I swapped it for the bayite that has been spot on, and checked with another remote thermometer as well as occasional spot checks by a wand thermometer and infrared. And the micro ATO has caused me a few issues; it once overfilled overnight and I came to a damp floor, full tank, and wrecked salinity. Then recently it did similar, dumping my salinity to 1.021 during the workday. I've reset it and still have it in the most stable part of my overflow box, so hopefully that proves ok.
I look forward to the advice and meeting for of you all!
