I currently have the Tunze 6095 in my 125g and I'm really thinking about switching to the mp40qd as that's all I see people using these days. Would I see better flow/patterns with them or am I just being stupid? Please advise, thanks guys!!

Switched from two Jaebos to 2 MP60s. I appreciate the build quality but I'm not knocked off my feet with its performance like what I was hoping. I added back in my two Jaebos and run all 4 pumps now.

I have run Vortechs for years & don't think I will in the future after my current ones give up the ghost. They're expensive & I've had all sorts of random issues. Issues wouldn't bug me on a cheaper pump, but these things are made of gold... and pretty much not user-serviceable at all. Parts are easy to replace but expensive.

I love my Tunzes. I would never switch. I don't like how open the screens are on the MP's, and if I remember correctly, you can only point them 90 degrees from the surface of the glass. I don't think you can point them in a specific direction like you can the Tunzes.

Jebaos are much better in my opinion. You may not have the controllability, but if you have an apex then you can hook them up and customize flow settings throughout the day. FishofHex has videos on it. Plus you can direct the flow and dont have to worry about sandstorms or air getting sucked into the vortech and sounding wonky... I sold my mp10 for a jebao pp8. A very good switch if you ask me!

Can't beat the value of a jebao. The only thing that I prefer about the vortechs is that they're low profile, but even then, you sacrifice the ability to change the angle/direction of flow. Even if jebaos are crap, which they're not, I can replace them five times just to get to the price of one vortech. Also, jebaos are a little noisier, but i can only hear them when the room is dead silent.

I like the jaebos also, running a lot of them.
I used to have Jebao, but it keep breaking on me, so now I am running 2 MP40QD on my 90 gallon. If I did not have these, I do want to try the gyre pump. Those do look nice too.

Yeah, jebaos will sometimes break down. Always keep a spare in case one goes out. You can also buy replacement parts for them so they're pretty cheap to fix. But like I said earlier, you can replace the dang things a handful of times before you start to get close to the cost of one vortech. I've never had to replace more than one or two though.
I set up a 125 reef not long ago and have 2 MP 40QD’s and they are set up in Reefcrest random mode. My corals seem to have responded well. These powerheads can definitely move some water when they are at full power. I only need to set them to less than mid point and everything seems happy and it’s not an underwater hurricane. They do come at a premium to others but after having them now I am glad I bought them. I also like how easy they are to clean.

I love tunzes (own 3-6085s for backup) but I could not imagine reefing without Ecotech MPs. If you maintain the MP pump it lasts for yrs.
For the first time I tried the maxspect gyre 280 and loving it. I would suggest you look into smaller gyre pumps- it's less expensive and can create some amazing flow. Place your 6095s on one side and add a gyre on the opposite side.
I don't even have an opinion on Jebao.
I'm debating on if I should just get 2 of these gyre 250's and ditched these tunze's. I really feel I'm not getting enough flow as the growth on my corals sucks

I run 2 mp 40s and an MP10 and a Jaebo, I do a maintenance on them about 3 times a year or whenever they look dirty. The MP10 has been running for over 2.5 years without any major issues. I love the ability to control the speed and form of the wave. I also love that I don't have to deal the apex interface which looks absolutely painful. I've used two jaebos they're also great and affordable, you'll win either way!! It's a matter of preference.
I had 2 mp10 on my previous tank and loved it. Current tank I have Jebaos haven't had any issues so far. I have heard a few issues with gyre's so i've always stayed away.

Hey if budget is not an issue yes most definitely. You can't go wrong with MPs.
Also, my maxspect gyre 280 is working great since I bought it at reef current.
